Growers able to sell through Clear Grain Exchange at T-Ports sites

Growers who deliver to T-Ports Lock and Lucky Bay sites will be able to offer their grain at the price they want to buyers through Clear Grain Exchange.

Clear Grain Exchange is an online platform allowing growers to offer their grain, at their price, in an open market to all buyers. If the grain trades, a secure settlement process ensures sellers retain ownership of the grain until they’re paid within seven days.

Clear Grain Exchange Managing Director Nathan Cattle said they were pleased to be able to offer the service to growers delivering to T-Ports sites this harvest.

“We congratulate T-Ports on what they’re achieving and look forward to the opportunity the exchange can bring growers delivering to their new sites,” he said.

“We aim to make it as easy as possible for all grain buyers to purchase grain from growers. This ensures growers get the true value of their grain, and importantly growers don’t lose title of their grain until they’re paid with our secure settlement process.”

T-Ports CEO Kieran Carvill said the addition of Clear Grain Exchange opened the potential for more buyers at T-Ports sites and ensured Eyre Peninsula grain growers could access fair pricing.

“We want to ensure growers are accessing the best prices for their grain and we’re pleased to partner with Clear Grain Exchange to enable this to happen,” he said.

T-Ports sites will be live in the Clear Grain Exchange system from Friday 15 November 2019.
